Girls Track & Field
The Lady Viking Track & Field team WON the Silver Fox Invitational this past Saturday at Dutch Fork High School. This meet was an awesome day for our team and the highlights include the following:
  • 4 x 400m relay (Kennay Agnew, Miya Freeman, Kailyn Taylor, Shauntel Smullen) set a new meet record of 4:10.
  • 4 x 800m relay (Kailyn Taylor, Tori Agostini, Claudia Cannon, Shauntel Smullen) set a new meet record of 9:55.
  • Kennay Agnew won the 100m dash with her P.R. time and Lanesa Mahon came in 4th.
  • Kennay Agnew came in 1st for the 200m dash.
  • Katherine Castillo placed 4th and Tamara McMichael placed 5th in 400m hurdles.
  • Claudia Cannon placed 1st in the 1 mile run with a meet record of 5:13 and Martina Novotny and Tori Agostini were close behind.
  • Raven Fleming placed 3rd in the high jump event and 2nd in shot put with a throw of 36'4.
  • Tori Agostini placed 2nd in the pole vault event.
  • Teana Gibbs, Chyna Thompson, and Dominique Hill took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the JV 100m dash.
  • Inez Nicholson set a JV meet record in the 1 mile run followed by Irene Nicholson and Gabi Herron.
  • Teana Gibbs won the JV long jump with Dominique Hill placing 4th and Ziyonna Windsor 7th.
  • TahJa Farris-Taylor placed 2nd in the JV shot put with a throw of 27'.
  • Kennay Agnew won Meet MVP for her overall performance.
Our athletes have been working hard and it felt great to see them reap the rewards of their diligence. Please continue to encourage our young ladies as we press toward the goal of State Meet. We look forward to competing again this Wednesday, March 26th at Irmo High School.


Boys Lacrosse
The boys' lacrosse team hosted Blythewood Thursday evening in a key Region game, but fell short in OT. Scoring for the Vikings was Matthew Hogue (4 goals,1 assist), Gerard Smith (3 goals, 1 assist), Paul Currey (2 goals, 2 assists), Jay Johnson (2 goals), Noah Diamond (2 goals) and Eli Burch (1 goal, 1 assist).  DeShan Wilson added 3 assists and Clay Armstrong contributed one as well. Defensively, Connor Sears made 11 saves.

The boys' lacrosse team played a non-Region game with AC Flora HS on Saturday. The Vikings came up short against the defending District champion Falcons. Scoring for the Vikings, were Eli Burch (3 goals), Noah Diamond (1 assist), Matthew Hogue and Gerard Smith.  Paul Currey added 3 assists. Defensively, Connor Sears collected 17 saves and Suraj Vytla scooped 2 ground balls with Andrew Lokanstov and Ford Tolar each collecting one, as well. The Vikings will face Irmo HS in a key Region game on Monday, March 24th at 7 pm.
