Spring Valley AFJROTC Wins 2014 State Top Gun Drill Championship

Spring Valley’s Vikings Air Force JROTC Viking Drill team won the “2014 Top Gun All-Services State Drill Championship for the 18th year at McEntire Air National Guard Base, Eastover, SC on Saturday, April 12, 2014.
Few honors can compare with being  State Champions; the Vikings defeated 17 South Carolina Army, Marine, Navy and Air Force High Schools throughout the State to claim this top honor.  Spring Valley High School claimed the prestigious 2014 Governor’s Trophy for the best ALL-SERVICES JROTC unit in the State.
The “can-do” attitude reflects the great pride each cadet had shown in themselves and our state and national award winning program here at Spring Valley High School.
In winning the overall best All-Services Drill Team in the State, they brought home a total of nine (9) event trophies.  Chief Master Sergeant ® Perry Langston is the Instructor Coach and Major Frank Ward ® is the detachment commander.
