Yesterday, AP Environmental Science students from Dr. Dale Soblo's class conducted their annual basic water quality analysis of the lake at Sesquicentennial State Park. As part of an ecology unit, students planned and implemented a basic study of the abiotic and biotic factors used to classify lakes. This included nutrients (phosphorus, ammonium, and nitrates), dissolved oxygen, temperature, depth, fecal contamination, and turbidity. Students are also producing a video documentary of the survey (look for that here at VU later). The data they collected will be shared with the State Park.
