The Smith Memorial "Pink Out" tournament was held October 7th at the Country Club of Newberry. The tournament hosted 20 high school teams from around the State. In support of breast cancer awareness month, all the players wore as much pink as they could find. The tournament was won by the South Pointe Lady Stallions with a team score of 310 and with a team score of 313, in a close second, were the Lexington Lady Wildcats. SV Lady Vikings placed 5th out of 20 in the tournament with a team score of 350. Low medalist for Spring Valley with a career low was Kamryn Beaman shooting a 72. Other team mates contributing to the team score were Payton Starmack, Bonnie Ayres and Mary Colvin Temple.
The Lady Vikings are in action in the region tournament next Tuesday, October 14th starting at 1:00 pm at the Woodlands Country Club.
