Hello Everyone, if you did not make to the game Saturday night you missed a good game, and for those who came out I believe they got their money's worth. Sorry we didn't get the victory for you. We lost to Hammond 68 to 94 This brings our record to 4-1. Our leading scoring came from PJ Dozier with 31 points and 17 rebounds. Also Jaylon Roberson had 11, Malik Dunbar had 10. KJ Legette and Israel Wall both added 2 points each. Despite our lost I believe we have a championship team this year so please come support your Viking Basketball Team!

Spring Valley 68 Hammond School 65 ( OT)

On Saturday the Lady Vikings rallied to hold off a determined Hammond team .With the largest crowd ever at the Valley, the team shook off some early game jitters to pull off the victory. Clutch free throw shooting late in the game by senior Megan Davis proved invaluable in sealing the victory.
Four players scored in double figures. Shantay Taylor tallied another double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds and 3 blocked shots .Megan Davis scored 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Christian Hithe had 13 points and 9 rebounds .Akia Dunlap followed with 11 points and 8 rebounds. 
The Lady Vikings wish to thank our Spring Valley Family for coming to the game and cheering loudly for our victory! A special thanks to Athletic Director Tim Hunter for putting the excitement together and the administration, security and all personnel who helped to make it a fun, safe and successful Saturday! You gotta be proud to be a Viking!

Varsity Wrestling
The varsity wrestling team finished 8th out of 18 teams at the Silver Fox Invitational Wrestling Tournament this weekend. The team was led by outstanding performance and 195 pound championship by sophomore Jordan Stiffler while senior Sam Bell finished 3rd and sophomores Kyle Coward and Mac Simpson placed 4th. The team travels Wednesday to Laurens to wrestle three matches followed by the Red Fox Duals in Hartsville on Saturday.

Touchstone Energy North-South All Star Football Game
Touchstone Energy North-South All Star Football Game was played this past Saturday. Senior Ja'Lon Williams, defensive lineman, had 3 tackles and 1 sack for minus 10 yards. Senior Tyler Frazier, strong safety, had 3 tackles and 1 caused fumble. Both of these men had outstanding games and did a great job representing Spring Valley High School. Senior Jordan Williams will be playing in the NC/SC Shrine Bowl this Saturday, December 20th at Wofford Stadium.
