The Business Department hosted their first in-class Business Plan Competition on April 21, 2016. Three judges donated their time and talent to assist in this effort. (Rev. James C. Woodley, Cedric Wright, & Coach Perry Dozier) Ten students competed in the competition. (Dominique Rappenecker, Hydeia Riddick, Carlos Marquez Hernandez, Bryanna Richardson, Ashley Allen Walkes, Mia Wooden, Elizabeth Gloriani, Alex Mayorga, Daija Carter, & James Smith) The Entrepreneurship students used the Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) business plan model. Students were judged on Opportunity Recognition, Market Research, Financials & Operations, Marketing & Sales, and Slide Layout & Presentation Skills. Ashley Allen-Walkes will go on and compete at the State Competition in June at the College of Charleston. She will be awarded $250.00 for participating in the State Competition.
