Spring Valley's junior Madeline Parker's portfolio was selected by Piccolo Spoleto as a Rising Start Artist. Rising Stars Piccolo Spoleto selects artistically talented youth with a high profile performance venue that recognizes their exceptional artistic talent. The programs will be presented on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the 2016 Spoleto USA/Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina, being held from May 27th through June 4th.
Each of the six Rising Stars programs will feature five to seven young artists and/or ensembles in a conversation and performance format. Featuring dancers, vocal and instrumental performances, and talks from visual artists. The programs will receive special recognition and be listed in the Festival program. All the programs are presented at St. Matthew’s Auditorium, which is located at 1 Vanderhorst Street in the heart of downtown Charleston across from Marion
Madeline will have her artwork on display at the festival and will be on stage at one of the performances talking about her work! The date is currently TBA.
