Viking Gold eeked out the victory over Viking Green 35 - 28. Jonathan Lawler led the way on defense, recording 15 tackles, swatting 5 passes and catching 3 tds on offense. Maureen McKelvey was a rock on offense, keeping the ball moving with her 27 clutch catches, making defenders miss a league record 11 times and her Lombardi like play calls. Stephen Cross was there.
For Viking Green, Lindsey was an offensive dynamo. Her yards from scrimmage record of 175 yards might stand the test of time. Rafael Balcacer was the do-it-all type of player that coaches dream to have. Viking Green's running game really benefited from his 4 pancake blocks and his overall blocking tenacity. Rocket arm Stephen McKinney led his team with 4 td passes, but a questionable call to play him at receiver for the final play may have cost his team the victory.
