Varsity Girls Basketball
The Lady Viking Basketball team made a valiant effort last night vs. the #8 ranked 4A team in SC, Westwood High School. The game was tied through 3 quarters of play. However, a tough 4th quarter propelled Westwood to victory with a final of 71-59. Top performers were: Ashley Williamson with 18 points, Kristian Wall with 14 points, and Lauryn Taylor & Baylor Davis with 8 points a piece. The loss drops the Vikes to (3-2) on the season. The coaching staff has been thoroughly impressed by the leadership being shown from a young group of underclassmen in a time of crucial adversity, that includes roster injuries.
The Lady Vikings will play Thursday night at AC Flora. Tip off time is 6PM. Region play begins at home next Tuesday, 12/13 vs. Lexington High School.
Boys Varsity Basketball
Our boys basketball team lost a tough game last night to Westwood 56-64.We are off to a slow start but our boys are playing extremely hard. I believe we will have a great season! our leading scorers: Rashaad Williams 20 points, Daeveon Davis 13, Julian Smith and ZaQuan Grant had 6 points each.
