2017 USC Region II Science and Engineering Fair Awards


Fifty-four Discovery students competed in the University of South Carolina Region II Science and Engineering Fair on March 10th, 2017. Each of these students did an outstanding job presenting his/her research to the judges from University of South Carolina, the United States Navy/Marine Corps, Fort Jackson, Congaree National Park, Westinghouse and many other professional organizations. Approximately 200 students from area high schools were interviewed by judges to determine the best of the submitted projects. Vinita Cheepurupalli was awarded the Silver Medal/Second place Grand Award.  Vinita was also chosen to compete in the International Sustainable World (Energy, Engineering, & Environment) Project Olympiad (I-SWEEEP) in Houston, TX in May.
