Girl Powered Event Thursday October 19th

The SVHS Robotics Teams are pleased to partner with Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation and VEX Robotics, Inc. to support Girl Powered, an initiative to engage more young women in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through competitive robotics. Today’s event will feature an array of engaging activities, speakers, giveaways and more to excite and further interest girls in competitive robotics to coincide with the International Day of the Girl Child, adopted by the United Nations in 2011 to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world.

Any young ladies in grades 5-8, please join us at our Girl Powered Event on Thursday, October 19th from 5:30 - 8:00 pm. This event is not just for Spring Valley High School girls but all girls throughout the district. The event includes some fun engineering activities and fun prizes.

The event is free to young ladies in grades 5 – 8 and the first 20 girls who register will receive Girl Power T-shirts.  Students can register at  Girl Powered - Engineering the Future Registration or contact Tammy Vaught @ tvaught@richland2.org

We are looking forward to seeing you there.
