Each year, the game ball that is used in the Shrine Bowl football game, is run to the stadium by the top senior cross country runners in the state. This relay covers over 33 miles and is run down the highways with a State Police escort. Only the top 15 senior runners from all classifications are selected. This is a big honor for these athletes. Spring Valley has 2 Shrine Bowl runners: Steven Andreen and Amir McCall. Congratulations for this crowning achievement for two great careers.
