Last night the Varsity girls played their only home scrimmage of the preseason taking on Northwestern. The girls came out strong and aggressive with Karah Barry scoring in the fourth minute of the game. Karah later added another with a powerful header off of a corner by Sydney Hudock. The last goal was scored by Austin Lea from about 25 yards out. The girls took a 3-0 lead into the half, which is how it ended up.
The Girls travel to Charleston this weekend to take on West Ashley Friday and Oceanside Christian Saturday.

Last night, the Junior Varsity girls played a strong match against Northwestern scoring 2 goals in the first half. They solidified their lead with an early goal in the second half and held their opponents to a shutout. The stats are below.

The Varsity Girls had a successful trip to Charleston as they took on West Ashley Friday and Oceanside Collegiate Academy Saturday.
In their game vs West Ashley, the girls were able to overcome a slow start and win 1-0 Karah Barry had the only goal of the game. Saturday morning, the team was able to avenge last year's loss to Oceanside. The Vikings came out aggressive and hit the post 3 times in the first 20 minutes. Karah Barry scored before the half and the defense was able to hold on for the 1-0 win.
For the preseason, the girls were able to finish 4-0, scoring 7 goals and totaling 4 shutouts.
The Varsity will return to action Thursday as they kickoff the 2019 Spring Valley Viking Cup, presented by South Carolina United, FC at 5:00 vs West Florence.
Congratulations to the JV girls for taking second place in their tournament at Airport. Three consecutive victories carried them to the finals, where they were finally defeated by a very talented AC Flora team. The stats are below.

Last night the girl's basketball team defeated Nation Ford 76-45 in the 3rd round of the SCHSL playoffs. Our girls will take on Sumter this Saturday at the Bon Secours Arena in Greenville at 5:00 for the Upper State Championship.
