CIC Field Study to Charlotte Motor Speedway

The Career Information Center (CIC) sponsored a career field study to the Charlotte Motor Speedway where we learned about the NASCAR business.  Career positions hired by this organization include engineers, engineer techs, soil and conservation specialists, chefs, cooks, broadcast journalists (tv and radio),  race car drivers, marketing & sales representatives, research and development personnel, hospitality & tourism personnel and more. Fact: Most race car drivers begin their education in this field around 7 years old.  They begin on small cars costing around $7,000 and race on dirt tracks.  It costs an average of 22 million dollars to maintain and race a car annually.
