Last night, the girls soccer team was eliminated from contention for the Region IV-AAAA championship with a loss to Irmo.  The game was scoreless until the last 12 minutes, when Irmo scored to take a 1-0 lead.  SV responded with its most inspired effort of the night and created several good opportunities to equalize but could not score.  Irmo's final goal came with a minute remaining and SV pushing all players forward in an attempt to score.

The JV team defeated Irmo 2-0 for their third victory over Irmo (once in a tournament) this season.

Boys Soccer
A great soccer match last night at Irmo. After regular play and two overtimes, the match was a tie 1-1. Jordan Motlong had a great shot from 20 yards out to put the Vikings up 1-0. Zach Vanderburg had a great game in the goal for the Vikings with 9 saves. Irmo won in penalty kicks.

Congrats to the boys' JV soccer team for winning the region for the second year in a row! They won last night 1-0 against Irmo.
