Per Tameika Wideman, Erskine College Recruitment Coordinator, "We have traditionally had applicants from Spring Valley High School and we know that your students are great candidates for our Presidential Scholarship Competition. The Presidential Scholarship is our most generous financial award, worth nearly $200,000 in tuition, room board and fees over four years. Two of these awards will be granted, along with several other exceptional scholarships. This is an opportunity for students to express themselves through an essay, their activities/academic resume, and an interview. We want to give prospective students an opportunity to tell us all the ways they would flourish as a student at Erskine College."
In order to apply for these scholarships, students must complete the following two steps by November 15th:
1. SUBMIT APPLICATION ONLINE
Go to http://visit.erskine.edu/apply/application-process/. Start or submit an application. They should also request that their official transcript and test scores be sent to our Admissions Office. Students are also asked to submit a short personal statement. This completes their regular admissions application and makes them eligible to apply for the Presidential Scholars Program.
2. COMPLETE YOUR PSC APPLICATION SUPPLEMENT.
After students have submitted an online application to Erskine College, they should visit http://visit.erskine.edu/apply/presidential-scholarship/ to upload their resume and Presidential essay. The essay topic and information regarding the resume are included on that link.
Again, students will need to complete both of these steps by November 15th to be eligible for the scholarship competition. Those selected for advancement will be invited to our Semi-Finals Competition to be held January 10, 2015.
