The Lady Vikings hosted the AC Flora Lady Falcons for the second time this season at the Woodlands CC yesterday.  The Lady Falcons overall team score of 194 again defeated the Lady Vikings team score of 226. Overall low medalist was Bonnie Chapman for AC Flora and low medalist for Spring Valley was senior Payton Starmack.

On a positive note, two of our Lady Vikings made their first varsity debut in yesterday's match, junior Madeline Kay and sophomore Mikayla Metz, with both of them contributing to total team score along with seniors Payton Starmack and Caroline Lumpkin.

Spring Valley Lady Vikings and Lexington's JV squad were hosted by Ridge View in a tri-match on a very tough Crickentree golf course on Thursday.  The Ridge View blazers took their revenge on Spring Valley from an earlier match in the season by defeating the Lady Vikings by 5 strokes.  The overall low medalist in the match was Spring Valley's Payton Starmack.  Other Lady Vikings contributing to team score were junior Madeline Kay, freshman Millie Spivey, and senior Paris Stevenson.

The Lady Vikings next match will be at the Woodlands country club on Tuesday the 19th when they host Cardinal Newman and Heathwood Hall.

Last night our JV football team lost to Lexington JV 21-18. It was a very tough and physical game from start to finish. Leading the way offensively was Soph QB Maddux Harrell who rushed 16 times for 130 yards, with a 3 yard rushing TD. Soph RB,Marquel Brown also ran the ball very well rushing 7 for 48 yards, showing very nifty moves. At the fullback position the tandem of Soph Jerry Gadson and Soph Harrison Gowland were like sledgehammers inSto the teeth of the Wildcat defense. Gadson rushed 9 times for 43 yards including a 4 yard run for a TD. Gowland had 6 rushes for 47 yards and a 1 yard rushing TD. Defensively the Vikings were lead by Isiah Miller who had numerous touchdown saving tackles and one bone crunching hit on a pass over the middle to cause a fumble. Soph. K.Hall had a big interception to start the 2nd half. JV falls to 2-1 overall.

Spring Valley HS Varsity Football defeats Lexington 20-7 to got to 5-0 and 1-0 in the region.  The Vikings were led on offense by Quincy Hill who rushed 28 times for 125 yards and was 4 0f 8 for 50 yards passing. Jacquez Terrell rushed 22 times for 115 yards and 1 touchdown. Jaylon Morris rushed the ball 5 time for 78 yards and 2 touchdowns. Malik Wesley had 3 catches for 26 yards.
 
Defensively the Vikings were led by Channing Tindall who had 14 total tackles 1 tackle for loss and 1 sack, Ke'Andre Jones had 8 total tackles and 1 interception, K'onte Brown had 10 total tackles 2 tackles for loss and 1 sack, Anteon Ervin had 8 total tackles 2 tackles for loss and 1 sack, and Max Shropshire who had 6 total tackles and 2 sacks. 

The Vikings are now 5-0 and 1-0 in Region 5 AAAAA
This Friday is Homecoming and the Vikings host White Knoll at home. We need a huge crowd for this very big region game

Boys Cross Country
9/9
On Labor Day the Boys Cross Country Team won the varsity and JV divisions of an Invitational in Virginia. Yesterday, the team started the regular season with wins over RNE, Ridgeview, Camden, and 3 other schools. The team is 6-0 and ranked 6th in the State. Steven Andreen and Amir McCall lead the team.

Volleyball

Both Varsity and JV Lady Vikings came away with a region WIN Thursday, September 14th versus Dutch Fork at Dutch Fork HS. Sophomore, Alisha Pitt finished the match with 16 Kills and Freshman, Caitlin Aycock had an incredible serving game with 5 ACES for the match. JV went 2-1 with DF; 25-15, 23-25 and 25-23. 

Varsity beat Dutch Fork in 3 games; 26-24, 25-18 and 25-13. Danielle Simpson lead the match in kills with 7 for the night. Chandler Murria and Elise Taylor also had a great night each having 5 kills total. T'meah Burgess led the team in aces having 7 aces which is a team high for the season so far this year! Elihana Cunningham also had a great night leading the team in digs with 18 total for the match! Don't forget to come out and watch your lady Vikings next Tuesday as they take on the lady Bengals of Blythewood High School!
