Congratulations to 33 of our fine band students for following through with a rigorous audition process to earn seats in the All-State and Region Three Bands. Region Auditions were held on Saturday, January 11th in the six regions to determine who would place highest in their section and qualify to audition on January 25th for the All-State Band. Each student was required to perform:
- All 12 diatonic scales correctly in multiple octaves within two minutes.
- Their Chromatic Scale for the required range of the instrument.
- The state assigned solo.
- Two sight-reading examples with 30 seconds given to study prior to playing.
- Music Terms Definitions Quiz.
Region Band Clinic will take place at Nation Ford High School on February 21st & 22nd, with the concerts the afternoon and evening of the 22nd. All-State Band Clinic will take place during SCBDA State Professional Development at Furman University on March 13th-15th, with the performances on the evening of the 15th.
